A new home?

Livejournal is not as useful as it once was, Facebook is a sewer, Twitter makes me furious, Tumblr is a fun but disorganized pile of slop. Will this platform--boring and stable--become the new home for my nature blogging? Let me see if this even posted, then we can talk.

First post in five years

I started blogging here in 2003, under a slightly different name.

Soon thereafter I joined livejournal (urbpan.livejournal.com) and I only used my blogger name for commenting on other blogspot journals. Today when I tried to do that, my account seems to have been eliminated. No big deal, even on the internet we must learn to accept that we get what we pay for.

It seems that this platform has developed somewhat in the past four years, so I'll have to see what advantages it has, but if you really want to read what I have to say, livejournal is the place to go.
